The Problem That Started It All

It all began with a simple beach trip with our dogs. Like many pet owners, we love taking our furry friends on adventures, but we noticed a frustrating pattern: every time our dogs jumped into the car with sandy paws, they would step on the window control buttons.

At first, it seemed like a minor inconvenience — accidentally opening windows or the occasional sandy button. But after my wife's Toyota had to have the window control panel replaced twice in one year, I realized this was a real problem without a real solution.

The "window lock" button prevents windows from operating, but it doesn't protect the physical buttons from sand, dirt, and debris that grind into the mechanisms each time our excited beach pups jumped in.

The Paw Button Cover Journey

The "Aha" Moment

After the second expensive repair bill for my wife's Toyota buttons, I realized that what we needed wasn't a software solution but a physical barrier. Why not create a cover that fits over the buttons but still allows them to be used when needed?

January 2025

First Prototype

Using my FLASHFORGE AD5M 3D printer, I created the first rough prototype for a Toyota RAV4. It was bulky and not very pretty, but it worked! Our dogs stepped on it, and the buttons were protected from sand and dirt.

February 2025

Refining the Design

After several iterations, I arrived at the current press-fit design that snaps securely into the panel gaps. The breakthrough was realizing that a dog's paw pressing down actually makes the cover more secure rather than dislodging it.

March 2025

Friends Want Their Own

When friends and family saw how well the cover worked for our Toyota vehicles, they started asking if I could make versions for their cars too. That's when I realized this simple solution could help many pet owners.

April 2025

Paw Button Cover is Born

After testing multiple prototypes and gathering feedback, Paw Button Cover is officially launching! Starting with Toyota models and expanding based on customer feedback and demand.
